SOLD – 1963 Tucker Brown Stella No.71 ‘Vreny’

Product Description

Vreny – Stella No.71 – For Sale

Vreny is a Tucker Brown 1963 Stella. She is laying in West Mersea, CO5 8QQ

I bought her in 2012 and have enjoyed her until 2017, when she came ashore. She has been housed in my warehouse until 2018 during which she was re-painted, and she is now outside under cover with her mast up, in my yard.

The trailer photographed is not included in the sale but can be used to help with transportation to her new home. The trailer is un-braked so it will be done at the new owners risk.

The engine, Yanmar 1GM, over 20 years old, was working when she came out of the water, but requires serious attention before re-commissioning.

Vreny was always considered to be a ‘fast Stella’, and has a good racing pedigree. I never raced her much, as my other boat, Black Diamond, took precedence, but at the one Levington Classics event I did attend, she came mid fleet with me single-handing, so the relative hull speed is definitely there.

She has all her old sails, which are perfectly serviceable (and used in the Levington race) but I do have a brand new set of Parker and Kay sails for her that would be for sale separately.

The reason for the sale is that I don’t have time to even sail Black Diamond as much as I would like, and owning two classics is too much.
